TWO-PART EPOXY MARKING INK

Two-part epoxy ink is used for superior adhesion to non-porous surfaces. It has excellent resistance to abrasion and flux removing solvents. The ink meets CID A-A-56032A Type I II & III. (Formerly MIL-I-43553b and appropriate test methods of MIL-STD-202e, 810c and 1285a.)

Colors

Standard: Black and White
Special: Red, Orange, Brown, Yellow, Green, Blue, Violet, Silver

Shelf Life:

Six to twelve months.
Refrigeration extends life. Do NOT freeze.

Mixing:

For all colors except silver, mix two parts ink resin to one part ink catalyst by weight. For Silver, mix 2.4 parts ink resin to one part ink catalyst by weight.

To achieve best results, allow an induction period of 30 minutes after mixing before using.

Cure Cycle:

1. Imprints will cure at room temperature. At room temperature, imprints will become tack free in 1-2 hours; may be handled in 6-8 hours, and require 4-7 days to develop full solvent resistance.

2. Ink may be force cured with heat to accelerate drying times:

250° F (121° C): 30 min.
300° F (149° C): 10 min.
350° F (177° C): 6 min.

Pot Life:

Under normal conditions, four to five hours after mixing. Higher than normal room temperatures will shorten the pot life.

Thinner:

Use only 2PE-T4 thinner/reducer formulated specifically for this ink. Others will adversely affect performance of this ink. Use a minimum amount to achieve desired consistency, only after the recommended induction period.

Cleaner:

Care should be used to assure compatibility with marking equipment. The following cleaners are commonly used.

1. 99% isopropyl alcohol
2. Acetone
